Greg and Sharon Wedding Photos – Woodstock, Ontario (August 15, 2009)

After an endlessly rainy summer, we were finally graced with sunny skies and warm weather on August 15th for Sharon and Greg’s wedding.

We first arrived at Sharon’s parents’ house to capture all the pre-wedding preparations. While Sharon was exceptionally calm and ready for the day, the bridal party, her family and friends, and ourselves were anxiously awaiting to finally see the bride in her dress and show her off to her waiting groom! After a quick photo session around the property, we hurried to St. David’s Church to capture the last minute jitters of the groom in the moments prior to seeing his bride.

The ceremony was beautiful, but not without a touch of humour that helped everyone relax and enjoy this special moment as it unfolded.

After the ceremony, we were lucky to have time for two locations to shoot photos for this day. First, we followed the newly married couple to Greg’s grandparents’ farm (which was also the location for their engagement shoot). We were greeted with exceptional hospitality, delicious snacks, and cold drinks that helped everyone brave this very hot day. After, we followed the wedding party to a friend’s property just outside of Woodstock. What a sight! Beautiful landscaping, a gorgeous house, and most importantly, a cold pool for the ladies to dip their feet in when they had enough of the heat. After a few group photos and some more laughs, we were finally able to steal the newlyweds away for a few photos of their own. The excitement of the day and love between these two was evident, and we did our best to capture these treasured moments.

Lastly, we head to the Quality Inn, for a delicious meal, entertaining speeches, and the first dances. The party soon got started, and everyone had an excellent time celebrating!

Congratulations Greg and Sharon! Thank you for letting me and Chantelle spend this very memorable day with you. All the best!

Sarah and Derek’s Wedding – Woodstock, Ontario (August 8, 2009)

It had been a while since Sarah and Derek’s engagement session, and I was looking forward to seeing them again on their wedding day!

The day started at Sarah’s house, where we were able to capture all the last minute preparations, excited jitters, and the first look at bride in her gown.

After the touching but lively ceremony in a beautifully decorated church in Beachville, Ontario, we initially kept our photo shoot indoors to photograph all of the family and friend formals. However, not ones to let a little rainy weather dampen their spirits, Sarah, Derek, and their wedding party followed us to a few locations around Woodstock, and with the help of an umbrella and a few overhangs, we were able to capture some great moments!

Lastly, we headed to Craigowan Golf and Country Club, where all of their hard work over the last year of planning was showcased. It was easy to see that their guests would have a great time celebrating.

Congratulations you two! It was a wonderful opportunity to spend the day with two people as nice and genuine as yourselves. I would have to say that the most memorable part of shooting your wedding was the SMILES! You made it easy to capture all the happiness, love and excitement that was in the air and between you and your family and friends.

Donna and Brad’s Wedding – Woodstock, Ontario (July 25, 2009)

It was a pleasure to meet up with Brad and Donna again – this time on their big day! While you could feel the excitement, all of their planning meant a nice calm start to the day. The ladies were dedicated to capturing the day, and despite the rain, followed me outside for some photos prior to the ceremony.

After a beautiful ceremony, the clouds finally parted, and I was able to take Donna, Brad, and their wedding party around Woodstock. They were a happy, friendly and fun group to work with!

Finally, we made our way to the Polish Hall in Woodstock. While I have frequented the hall many times over the year, it was the first time I had seen it so beautifully decorated!  A great meal, touching and funny speeches, and lots of dancing made for a great party.

Congratulations Donna and Brad. Thanks for allowing me to spend the day with you.

Dave & Caroline Engagement Shoot – St. Thomas & Port Stanley, Ontario (July 19, 2009)

It has been a good three years since I met Caroline at her sister’s wedding so I was very honored that she remembered my work and wanted me to shoot her and Dave’s wedding. I had such a good time at that wedding that I am getting excited to spend the day with the family once again. 

Dave and Caroline are such a welcoming and fun loving couple, this alone made their engagement shoot so much fun for me. We started out in St. Thomas to take advantage of some great architecture and then moved on to Port Stanley beach for a more relaxed atmosphere. The love between these two was very apparent and it showed through naturally in all the photos . Keep checking back to the blog as I will be documenting Dave & Caroline’s special day in September.

Greg and Sharon Engagement Shoot – Woodstock, Ontario (July 7, 2009)

After all this rainy weather we’ve been having, I was lucky enough to be able to meet with Greg and Sharon on a beautiful, warm evening, complete with a lovely sunset.

Upon the couple’s suggestion, we traveled just outside of Woodstock to Greg’s grandparents’ farm. WOW – what a great idea! It was a charming farm, full of character, which made it easy for me to come up with creative ideas. Greg and Sharon were great to work with, bringing to life all of the shots with ease … and a few laughs!

I’m looking forward to meeting with these two in a couple weeks, as their wedding fast approaches.

Shawn and Honorata E-Session – Grand Bend, Ontario (July 5, 2009)

Well it took us a long time to get to Grand Bend for Shawn and Honorata’s engagement photography session. I kept stopping the car, putting the 4 ways on, and jumping out of the car when I saw something interesting that we could use for our shoot. Yes, fields and small towns with one intersection amuse me!

We ended up getting to Grand Bend in perfect time for some fun photos and we had an amazing sunset to cap off the shoot.

Honorata and Shawn were fantastic to work with, Honorata has worked as a model for me a few times so she knew what to do and Shawn had no trouble keeping up with her.

Thank you guys for suggesting this location, it was well worth it.

 

I will be documenting Honorata’s and Shawn’s wedding in January of 2010 so watch out for it.

Evan and Edyta Wedding – Woodstock, Ontario (June 27, 2009)

What an amazing wedding!

I had such a great time at this wedding! It was a fantastic blend of people who really knew how to party it up together. Evan’s friends and family came down to Woodstock from the east coast of Canada, blended in with the fun loving locals of Woodstock and Edyta’s Polish family, everyone ended up having such a good time.

Evan and his friends jumped on the wedding band’s gear right after coming into the hall and started playing some great tunes to get the crowd going at the beginning of the night. They claim that they have not played for a long time but it sounded great to me!

The food and service was amazing at the reception, a big Dudek Photography thumbs up to Maximillian’s from Brantford, Ontario!
